It’s all very well converting your masterpiece into MP3 format and uploading to your own website or any other website where the public can download your track, but, remember to “tag” your MP3s before you upload them!

It’s not only annoying for someone who downloads your MP3 only to find that the only information is the filename! So use a good MP3 Tag Editor or the use windows to help you.

When you have made your MP3, “right click” it to pull up your options in windows and select “properties”, then click the “summery” tab.

You should get something like this:

Now, make sure you click on the “Advanced>>” button, this is very important as this will allow you to add much more information.

You will now have a better selection of options: Artist, Album Title, Year, Track Number, Genre, Lyrics, Title and Comments. Fill them all in, giving as much and precise information as possible, when you have finished now just click OK.

Now when you upload your MP3 to websites and someone downloads them, all the necessary information is included, if that person adds your track to their iTunes for example, all your information for the track will be there for them, I know many people who have downloaded MP3 in the past and those that have no information at all, they delete.

So don’t forget to TAG your MP3s before you upload etc.
