Vince Carpentieri was born in Naples in 1976. In 1989 he started studying classical guitar at the San Pietro Conservatory in Majella where he qualified in solfeggio. At the beginning of the 90’s, influenced by the guitar fever of those years, he changed to the electric guitar, entrusting his learning to various teachers and in particular to Umberto Fiorentino. In 1999 he decided to move to Los Angeles in order to attend the Musicians Institute (G.I.T.), where he was awarded a Professional Honours diploma. It was in the United States that Vince started his professional career with the help of such musicians as Scott Henderson, Daniel Gilbert, Ross Bolton and Jean Mark Belkadi, pillars of his musical formation and an important part of his musical influences. From 2000 to 2001 his guitar accompanied the singer/songwriter Jenny Vella on her Italian tour, “Angeli a Meta’”. At the same time he collaborated for ten editions of the guitar magazine, “AXE Magazine”. In 2002 he won a prize for Best Guitarist in a national competition for new groups called “New Generation”, organised by the governmental department for Political Youth of Castelfidardo (AN).
